Takedown services
Takedown services for fake websites and phishing sites.
You make one decision: whether a site is fake. We do the rest: reporting it, confirming it's offline and watching for it to come back. Takedowns come with Pro: $299 a month for up to 3.

What to ask before you hire a takedown service
Ask any service you're considering. These are our answers.
What can they actually take down?
Fake websites, phishing sites and scam domains, and we get copied pages removed from Google. Impersonating social media accounts: we find and score them, but they aren't part of the takedown service yet.
What does it cost, and when are you charged?
Monthly plans include up to 3 takedowns a month for $299, up to 10 a month for $499 or up to 20 a month for $899, and renew automatically until you cancel. A single takedown is $199 per site, paid once on any plan, the free plan included, and charged before we start. Each fake-site domain counts as one.
What do they need from you?
One decision: whether a site is fake. A site that steals passwords or card numbers needs no documents. A site that only copies your pages needs a letter of authorization, signed once in your dashboard and valid for a year.
How do they check a site is really gone?
We check every hour until a site goes offline, and from other locations before we count it, because some fakes play dead only for automated checks. Then we email you and record the time on your case page. For a copy removed from Google instead, we record Google's answer on your case page.
What if the site returns?
After a takedown, we keep checking until the domain is deleted. If a site taken offline comes back at the same address, we act on it again once you confirm, at no extra charge. A new domain counts as a new takedown.
Can you see what was done?
Every report we send is recorded on your case page, with the case's progress and the time the site went offline.
Common questions
Can you guarantee the site will be taken down?
No one can promise that, because the companies that can take a site offline make the final call. On a monthly plan, if none of the sites we took on has gone offline, been suspended, received a browser warning or had its pages removed from Google's search results within 30 days of our first report, we refund your first payment. It applies once, must be requested within 30 days, and doesn't apply if we couldn't start because your authorization letter was missing.
Is there a contract?
No. Monthly plans have no minimum term: cancel any time in Billing and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Is OpenBait part of Shopify?
No. OpenBait is an independent takedown service and isn't affiliated with Shopify. It works on copies of any website, whatever platform the real site runs on.
Have a fake site to take down?
Paste the link. A copy often answers "Not confirmed", and that's expected: choose Sign up and get it taken down. Signing up is free, you confirm the site copies yours, pick a plan or a single takedown, and we take it from there.
